Ngpartners in Columbia, MD seeks a Senior Software Engineer focused on AI integration to design, develop, and deploy an agentic platform for our Data Lake tool. You will build MCP servers, reusable AI skills, and robust guardrails using Python and Kubernetes.

Join a team delivering secure, scalable solutions for IC, DoD, and federal customers. You will mentor engineers, collaborate across teams, and help expose internal APIs to AI agents while maintaining strict security and testing standards.

Qualifications

• Must obtain U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• 9 years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on Python backend development; Bachelor’s degree in related field, or 7 years with Masters; or HS diploma with 13 years experience.
• Kubernetes deployment and management experience in production systems.
• Hands-on experience integrating commercial OpenAI/Anthropic APIs or open-source models into backend applications.
• Understanding of prompt engineering, agents, function-calling/tool-use, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Experience designing enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker; comfortable with Linux CLI.
• Hybrid work in Columbia, MD 1–2 days per week in office.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop Python-based components for the core agentic platform.
• Deploy, manage, and scale applications within Kubernetes environments.
• Build MCP servers and a library of reusable AI skills (functions/tools).
• Collaborate with teams to expose Java-based APIs to AI agents.
• Implement enterprise AI guardrails, data privacy, prompt defences, and output validation.
• Maintain automated testing pipelines for non-deterministic AI outputs.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to engineering teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
