Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA seeks a Sr. Software Development Engineer for the Leo Telemetry Platform to design, build, and operate globally distributed systems delivering near real-time analytics and AI capabilities.

You will create scalable data lakehouse and analytics layers, define data ingestion and quality controls, and lead engineering teams to deliver low-latency services across satellites and ground gateways.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement a scalable, cost-optimized data lakehouse.
• Architect and implement a scalable OLAP-based analytics layer.
• Establish metadata management with automated data classification and lineage tracking.
• Design standardized data ingestion patterns with quality controls and validation gates.
• Architect a centralized metrics repository as the source of truth for Leo metrics.
• Implement data quality frameworks with automated validation pipelines.
• Design extensible metrics schemas for AI retrieval patterns.
• Develop orchestration for metrics generation workflows with audit trails.
• Lead semantic data model design balancing performance and AI needs.
• Implement cross-domain federated query capabilities with optimization.
• Architect a globally distributed vector database for billions of embeddings.
• Design hybrid search strategies for semantic retrieval.
• Establish automated compliance validation frameworks meeting Amazon security standards.
