Job summary

Amgen seeks a Senior Associate Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of scalable software, data, and automation solutions that support R&D Commercialization and Amgen’s mission to serve patients.

The role involves collaborating with product managers, analysts, and engineers across the software development lifecycle, including solution design, testing, deployment, and production support.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Information Systems with 3+ years of enterprise software or data solution experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years in Information Systems and related projects is acceptable.
• Associate’s degree with 6 years’ experience in software or data solutions.
• High school diploma with 8 years in information systems or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in Python and SQL with experience in cloud, data, automation, or enterprise platforms.
• Ability to deliver moderately complex technical assignments independently within a cross-functional team.
• Proficient in secure coding, DevOps, CI/CD, and observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, test, deploy, and support scalable software and data solutions.
• Own technical implementation of user stories and workstreams with product managers, analysts, and engineers.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs, data flows, and testable criteria.
• Develop production-ready applications and data pipelines using Python, SQL, PySpark, and APIs.
• Develop and maintain APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
• Create containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes; deploy on Rafay and AWS services.
• Support DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment validation.
• Write unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure quality and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design reviews; maintain engineering standards.
• Monitor health using logging/observability tools; troubleshoot incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Maintain security controls, secrets management, certificates, and access governance.
