Job summary

Amgen seeks a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer for the AI Studio to lead complex AI and automation solutions from discovery through production. You’ll coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, data science and governance to deliver measurable value. Strong Python/SQL production skills and end-to-end ownership are essential.

You’ll shape architectures, manage risk, drive CI/CD readiness and ensure compliant, secure deployments while advancing Amgen’s mission to serve patients.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or master's/bachelor’s with extensive CS/IT experience required.
• Proven end-to-end ownership of a production AI/ML or automation solution.
• Strong Python and SQL production software design and review experience.
• Ability to translate complex problems into executable delivery plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery by clarifying workflow, users, outcome, acceptance criteria and data readiness.
• Translate problems into design, workstreams, milestones, risks and release approach.
• Build or contribute to critical production components for AI-enabled apps and integrations.
• Define and maintain architecture across applications, data, models and APIs.
• Orchestrate delivery across engineering, data science, ML, security and compliance.
• Establish AI governance, testing, validation and release thresholds.
• Coordinate CI/CD, staged release, monitoring and recovery, ensuring production readiness.
• Communicate risks, trade-offs and status; capture lessons into reusable components.
