Job summary

OpenGov is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop top-tier SaaS solutions that enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in government agencies. You will lead features and improvements in a fast-paced, agile environment using ReactJS, Typescript, GraphQL, and NodeJS, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver customer impact.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to engineering culture, and stay aligned with customer outcomes while adopting cutting-edge

Qualifications

• 9+ years delivering scalable cloud-native apps with JS/TS, ReactJS and NodeJS.
• Experience with AI-driven UX, agents, and workflow automation.
• Experience on Azure or AWS with modern CI/CD and DevOps.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL experience; observability with Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across the organization to translate business priorities into shipped features delivering customer success.
• Generate clean, efficient, and well-documented software following industry best practices.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to ensure the development of resilient, scalable SaaS applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex technical issues.
• Mentor and guide junior software engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Contribute to OpenGov's Engineering culture of innovation, leading-edge technology adoption and quality.
• Cultivate customer empathy to ensure solutions exceed customer expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and operational excellence.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, advocating for their adoption where appropriate.
