Qualifications

• U.S. Government Security Clearance required; U.S. citizenship.
• 9 years in Software Engineering with Modern Java; alternative paths possible.
• Designing enterprise APIs experience.
• RESTful web services experience.
• Microservices architecture experience.
• OOP paradigms expertise.
• Agile software lifecycle experience.
• Tech lead, mentor or engineering manager experience.
• Linux operating system experience.
• Experience with build/configuration tools like Git, Nexus, Maven.
• Hybrid work: 1–2 days per week on customer site in Fort Meade, MD and visits to Columbia, MD.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java-based software capabilities with strong testing.
• Integrate AI agents and autonomous workflows into daily work.
• Lead feature delivery and unit/integration test automation.
• Guide multi-repository architecture and manage context for AI use.
• Mentor teammates and balance hands-on work with leadership.
