Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. You will work closely with a team of engineers to deliver robust Java-based solutions and RESTful services in a modern tech stack.

In this mid-senior role, you will apply OOP principles, microservices patterns, and agile practices while exploring Next-Gen coding agents and AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• Clearance to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• 5 years experience in Software Engineering; or 3 years with a Master’s degree; or 9 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience designing enterprise APIs and RESTful web services.
• Experience in Microservices architecture and OOP paradigms.
• Experience with agile software lifecycle and Linux operating system.

Responsibilities

• Strong working knowledge and experience developing Java-based software capabilities.
• Excellent testing skills and ability to troubleshoot under deadlines.
• Ability to guide AI agents and integrate Next-Gen Coding Agents (Claude Code, Gemini) into workflows.
• Develop agentic features, multi-file implementations, and automated tests.
• Manage complex codebases and ensure security, performance, and architectural alignment.
