Job summary

Axon, headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead design and delivery of healthcare enterprise systems. You will own end-to-end development, focusing on AI-powered features and EHR integration, aligning with product teams and customers.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture reviews, and help evolve proofs-of-concept into scalable solutions that leverage Axon's platform and healthcare data.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience designing and delivering cloud-based systems with high availability and performance.
• Strong system design skills with tradeoffs in scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Experience creating and evolving APIs, services, or components used by other engineers.
• Direct experience with EHRs and healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR/HL7/SMART on FHIR).

Responsibilities

• Own design and implementation of complex systems for healthcare enterprise initiatives.
• Evolve proof-of-concepts into production-ready systems integrating with Axon's platform and EHRs.
• Design and deliver AI-powered capabilities for clinical and operational workflows.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and customers to clarify requirements and iterates based on feedback.
• Coordinate work across engineers and adjacent teams for end-to-end solutions.
• Maintain high technical standards through code and architecture reviews with a focus on reliability, security and privacy.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools and workflows across the team.
• Mitigate technical risks related to scalability and long-term evolution of systems.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on AI-first development practices.
• Contribute to planning, estimation, and execution of cross-feature projects.
• Improve engineering processes and weekly operating model.
