• 5+ years of professional software development, backend focus.
• Strong experience with Ruby on Rails or Python.
• Experience leading technical designs and cross-functional projects.
• Solid SQL skills and PostgreSQL familiarity.
• Experience using AI coding tools and evaluating AI outputs.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews.
• Familiarity with agile development practices.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and optimize production-ready backend code daily.
• Lead technical design reviews and author designs.
• Use AI tools to aid design while ensuring quality and security standards.
• Guide junior engineers on effective AI usage.
• Own provider-facing APIs across profile/onboarding/offboarding.
• Mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotation.
• Maintain logging, alerting, and incident analyses.
