Job summary

Spring Health in San Francisco seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to build and scale a centralized AI platform powering care capabilities across GenAI tooling and ML services.

You will collaborate with ML teams to deploy, maintain, and modernize MLOps practices while mentoring engineers. This hybrid role requires in-office presence 2–3 days per week at our 44 Montgomery site and occasional relocation within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 4-6 years of Python development experience with GenAI and ML libraries.
• Experience maintaining and configuring engineering tools, including deployment within a Kubernetes stack.
• Experience driving the adoption of generalized platforms with focus on Developer Experience (DX).
• Demonstrated ability to architect solutions for a full project in an enterprise environment.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate complex technical ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to build and scale the AI platform, tooling, and best practices for GenAI deployment.
• Monitor and maintain uptime of AI/ML tools for high availability of platform features.
• Drive backlog prioritization for internal adoption of the centralized AI platform.
• Participate in on-call rotations and internal office hours, contributing to AI working groups.
• Lead refactoring initiatives for key platform services and enforce coding standards.
• Mentor ML teams and modernize MLOps practices across teams.
• Ensure cross-team collaboration to accelerate adoption of AI platform offerings.
• Troubleshoot and debug AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes infrastructure issues.
• Identify process optimizations balancing feature development with operational support.
