Job summary

Wagmo, a pet healthcare company, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for a remote role based in Latin America with at least 6 hours overlap with US Eastern Time. You will own the claims automation pipeline, building AI-powered features that automate and optimize how claims are read, evaluated, and paid.

You’ll join the Pet Parents squad and collaborate with Product to decide what to build next, shipping changes from design to production.

Qualifications

• You’ve shipped an LLM-powered feature to production that real users or real money depend on.
• You’ve designed or substantially refactored a system the business depends on, such as payments or claims, without breaking it.
• You’ve taken over a complex system someone else built and earned trust with code reviews that influence designs.

Responsibilities

• Learn the claims automation pipeline and become a core owner.
• Lower cost by routing work to the right models while maintaining accuracy.
• Restructure the pipeline so changes are testable and deployable independently with gating evaluations.
• Ship new automation to resolve more claims without manual review in collaboration with Product.
• Use AI to read veterinary records and improve coverage decisions on more claim types.
