Job summary

Wagmo Inc. in Canada is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Pet Parents squad, focusing on the claims automation system that reads invoices, decides coverage, and pays claims. You will own the design to production, ship AI features used by real pet parents, and collaborate with Product.

You will work with Python, Django, TypeScript and AI tooling in a remote Canadian setting with some overlap into US Eastern Time.

Qualifications

Shipped AI features used by real users with measurable impact.
Designed or refactored large systems ensuring reliability and testability.
Strong Python, Django and TypeScript experience.

Responsibilities

Learn claims automation pipeline in depth and become a core owner, reviewing and shipping changes early.
Lower the cost of each claim by routing work to the right models while preserving accuracy.
Restructure the pipeline so each stage can be changed, tested, and rolled out independently with gating.
Ship new automation to resolve more claims without manual review, in collaboration with Product.
Use AI to read veterinary records and improve coverage decisions.
