Job summary

Google is seeking software engineers to work on agentic architecture and scalable data access for Coach-like experiences, grounding responses in longitudinal health and biometric data. You will write secure, production-grade code and collaborate with product, UX, and frontend teams.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentorship of junior engineers, and building scalable, low-latency systems with strong emphasis on AI-driven capabilities and cross-team coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python, or Go).
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms in academic or industry settings.
• Experience developing accessible technologies and in code/system health, diagnostics, resolution, and software test engineering.
• Experience developing Generative AI Agents.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement agentic architecture, tools, and features enabling scalable, low-latency data access and analysis.
• Write production-grade code and evals to enable secure data retrieval layers and investigative tools.
• Identify product gaps and suggest feature enhancements for long-term scalability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and frontend engineers to refine the user experience and resolve cross-functional issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct design and code reviews to uphold engineering standards.
