Job summary

StackHawk Inc. is seeking a senior engineer to own the agentic loop and core platform work. You will design the find, fix, and verify loop, rewrite and extend the tool layer used by agents, and contribute to open source agent skills while collaborating with product, security, and go-to-market teams.

This is onsite in Denver. You will gain rapid impact as work appears in customer conversations within weeks and in the product within days.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building and shipping production SaaS software.
• Deep in at least one statically typed language (Python, TypeScript, Go, or Rust experience helps).
• Core platform is Kotlin and Java; strong skill elsewhere also works.
• Experience with microservices in a modern cloud environment, containers, and orchestration.
• Solid API design instincts and related tooling.
• Obsessive about automation and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the find, fix, and verify loop powering agentic security workflows.
• Build and own the tool layer for agents to reach our platform; rewrite where needed.
• Extend our published agent skills; open source assets and integrations.
• Do context engineering to influence what the model sees and when.
• Build eval harnesses for non-deterministic systems and define success metrics.
• Develop core product features and services in a microservices architecture (Kotlin, Java, Rust, gRPC, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, Gradle).
• Design and build APIs for UI and customers.
• Build developer-facing CLI tools.
• Integrate with GitHub, GitLab, CI, IDEs, and agent runtimes.
• Collaborate with product, security, and go-to-market; ship against customer feedback.
• Learn vulnerability classes and explain Remote OS Command Injection concepts.
