Job summary

Verkada is seeking a security-focused software engineer to scale security across the SDLC with automation, libraries, tools, and AI-powered improvements. You will work with Verkada’s Command platform and cross-functional teams to reduce vulnerabilities and improve secure software delivery.

The role requires writing code daily, a CS degree, 7+ years in security-focused software engineering, and strong collaboration and communication skills. Onsite in San Mateo is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 7+ years as a software engineer with a security focus.
• Interest in security weaknesses, attacks, and mitigations.
• Experience leveraging AI as you build.
• Excellent collaborative and communication skills.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to eliminate classes of vulnerabilities across Verkada.
• Build tools to help engineers build securely.
• Leverage AI to automate security engineering practices.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to set security goals and processes.
• Collaborate with the CISO and security team to grow programs.
• Share security knowledge via talks, blogs, and open source.
