Job summary

AppFolio is hiring a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Affordable Housing space. You will own domain concerns, build scalable web apps, and collaborate with product and design across a fast-growing SaaS platform.

You will work in a collaborative, agile environment, mentoring teammates and delivering high-quality software that meets complex regulatory needs in housing. Hybrid work arrangements are supported.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering teams.
• Proficient with web app development in SaaS environments.
• Strong knowledge of Ruby on Rails, React, MySQL, AWS, and SOA.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development.

Responsibilities

• Own the Affordale Housing domain understanding and drive architecture.
• Develop scalable, robust web-based solutions and refactor when needed.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to code reviews.
• Implement features and optimize performance across the stack.
• Collaborate with QA, product, and design to deliver high-quality software.
• Embrace agile delivery and manage work in progress with the team.
• Explore new technologies and promote engineering best practices.
• Prioritize maintainability and refactor code to reduce tech debt.
