Rocket Lab in Littleton, CO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I for its Digital Engineering team to develop next‑gen simulation and modeling tools for aerospace systems.

You will design, implement, test, and deploy software across Windows and Linux using .NET, Angular, and RESTful APIs, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

The role emphasizes scalable architectures, UI/UX, and high‑quality code; US citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience in simulation, modeling, or aerospace systems.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET and Angular; frontend frameworks acceptable.
• Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and building RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server, SQLite).
• OO programming principles and design patterns.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain simulation and modeling tools for aerospace systems.
• Design and develop mission-level wargaming tools across space, air, ground domains.
• Develop products for analyzing laser communication constellation networks.
• Develop cross-platform application software using web technologies.
• Apply UI/UX best practices for streamlined interfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and architectures.
• Participate in design reviews (PDR, CDR) and refine requirements.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure coding standards.
• Optimize performance and scalability for large-scale simulations.
