Job summary

Guardian Life Insurance is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the Absence Comprehensive Experience (ACE) platform within the Group Benefits program. The role partners with solution architects, product managers and engineers to design and deliver scalable cloud-based solutions in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with service-oriented and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience with Java Springboot, Aurora PostgresSQL, Redis, Hibernate, Microsoft Graph API.
• Experience with modern API/micro-service development, CI/CD.
• Experience with secure coding, cloud security principles.
• Experience with AI-assisted development using Github Co-pilot or Claude.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, EKS, SNS/SQS, SDK.
• Experience with Git, Bitbucket.
• Logging & Monitoring tools AppDynamics, ArgoCD, CloudWatch, Splunk, Zenoss.
• Test Driven Development for 90-100% code coverage.
• Familiarity with API architectures including microservice strategy.
• Proven ability to lead cross-team projects in fast-paced agile environments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Adaptability in fast-paced environments.
• Strong presentation and collaboration skills; documentation.
• Plus: Python, ReactJS and Apache Camel.
• Plus: FINEOS Group Insurance product knowledge.
