Akina Inc in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, seeks a Senior Software Engineer 3 to build AI infrastructure and tooling with a focus on reliability, security, and performance. You will lead a team, mentor juniors, and collaborate with customers to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

The role requires deep Python expertise, Kubernetes experience, and a strong background in production software and SRE practices. TS/SCI clearance variant may apply, with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

12+ years of SWE experience in similar scope and complexity.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; 4 years additional SWE experience may substitute for degree.
Experience with FOSS modification for customer use cases and strong growth mindset.

Responsibilities

Develop high-quality AI tools and applications for the workforce to use.
Ensure high availability, reliability, performance, and security of AI tools.
Modify FOSS to accommodate the customer’s use cases.
Regularly engage with customers to elicit requirements and craft solutions.
Maintain existing customer-facing infrastructure and applications for reliable services.
Serve as technical lead for AI Tools and Applications initiatives across teams.
Coach and provide feedback to junior developers; act as POC for contract administration.
