Job summary

Akina, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer 3 to own and evolve the AI platform's cloud foundation in Annapolis Junction, MD.

You will drive AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, and security posture for AI capabilities across the organization. You will mentor engineers, translate goals into platform outcomes, and balance hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities while maintaining production-grade software and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of SWE experience in programs and contracts of similar scope
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Ability to translate high-level goals into engineering outcomes
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of the cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes).
• Translate high-level stakeholder goals into engineering outcomes and platform solutions.
• Work in ambiguous problem spaces and define structured solutions for the team.
• Mentor engineers and grow development standards and governance.
• Establish and enforce security best practices for infrastructure and data.
