Strativ Group in New York City is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to build and scale the core platform, shaping engineering practices as the team grows.

You will own end-to-end features across frontend and backend, work with AI/LLM capabilities, and drive performance, reliability, and security as the product expands.

• 8+ years for Staff level candidates
• Strong SQL skills, data modelling at scale

Senior / Staff Software Engineer – New York City

Compensation: $190k–$280K base + bonus + equity

A growing, venture-backed technology company is building AI-powered software that helps finance companies automate complex workflows, work with large datasets, and turn information into actionable insights.

With an ambitious product roadmap and an engineering team at an exciting stage of growth, the company is looking for experienced engineers to help develop its core platform, scale its technology, and shape how the engineering team operates.

This is an opportunity for engineers who enjoy working across the stack, taking ownership of meaningful projects, and making technical decisions that have a direct impact on the product and business.

What you’ll do:

• Build and ship full-stack product features, APIs, and data feeds from concept through production
• Design and scale backend systems, data models, and infrastructure with a focus on performance, reliability, and security
• Develop interactive user interfaces and data visualisations
• Build and integrate AI-powered capabilities, using modern LLMs and agentic workflows to improve how the product is developed and delivered

You’ll likely bring:

• 4+ years of experience building and shipping production software for Senior-level candidates, or 8+ years for Staff-level candidates
• Solid SQL skills, including query optimisation, data modelling, and working with data at scale
• Experience building modern frontend applications, ideally with React, including interactive interfaces and data-heavy products
• A track record of owning projects end-to-end and making sound technical decisions in fast-moving environments
• Practical experience using AI coding tools and a strong understanding of how to build applications with LLMs
