Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Careers Technology Team. This role is predominantly Back End focused, with partial Infrastructure and Front End support. This role is crucial in developing our career and events platform from the ground up, enhancing its functionality, and ensuring it meets the needs of our students and employers. This position offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally, collaborating with product and design teams, while also taking a hands-on approach with data and analytics.

This role is remote-flexible. We are located on South Congress Ave (next door to Allen’s Boots!) and would love to have you in the office occasionally, but no relocation necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical proficiency and directly contribute to the development of a scalable, robust, highly-available cloud-based application.

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality code by applying industry best practices such as automated testing, CI/CD, and code reviews, with a strong commitment to testing what you write—we aim for 100% code coverage.

• Work closely with cross-functional partners in Product, Design, Marketing and Revenue Operations to shape company strategy and align engineering efforts with business objectives.

• Perform data analysis to understand product usage, team performance, and application performance.

• Work collaboratively with our Security and Infrastructure Engineer to manage and optimize spend for our AWS infrastructure to ensure the cost-effective deployment of cloud resources.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, where at least 4+ years are focused on backend/infrastructure.

• Demonstrated experience developing & shipping performant, scalable SaaS applications.

• Proficiency with various platforms and technologies:

• Backend Technologies: Go, Django, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis

• Frontend Technologies: Experience with single-page app frameworks such as React and Vue.js is a nice-to-have.

• Cloud Services: Experience with AWS, including S3, RDS, Elasticache, is a nice-to-have.

• Outstanding communication skills, capable of conveying technical ideas and concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Familiarity with security standards (SOC 2) and data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, etc.
