Job summary

Jobtailor in Denver, CO seeks an experienced backend engineer focused on Java to design and deploy scalable services for Visa-like payment platforms. You will develop APIs, integrate systems, and collaborate with product, test, DevOps, and Agile/Scrum teams to deliver secure, reusable software.

Qualifications

2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor’s degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Knowledge of back-end development, including Java
Ability to develop and use APIs
Knowledge of database software
Knowledge of systems integration
Knowledge of data structures
Expertise in Java
Experience building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability
Interest in learning technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
Experience collaborating with Product, Test, Dev-ops, and Agile/Scrum teams
Ability to participate in on-call rotations and incident responses
Ability to travel 5–10% of the time
