Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in automotive embedded software development, software integration, or systems engineering.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and coordinating software development activities.
  • Experience working directly with customers in a technical leadership or customer-facing role.
  • Strong experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded C/C++, software integration, and verification activities.
  • Experience with requirements management, traceability, software testing, and release management.
  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, CAN FD, LIN, UDS, and Ethernet.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control systems, and software quality processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, drive issue resolution, and support customer programs with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to software engineering teams across multiple customer programs.
  • Support customer meetings, technical reviews, workshops, project status discussions, and issue resolution activities.
  • Lead requirements analysis, software design reviews, software architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
  • Coordinate software development, integration, verification, and release activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and review embedded software using Model-Based Design methodologies and modern software engineering practices.
  • Support software integration, debugging, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Guide software testing activities, including MIL, SIL, HIL, integration, and validation testing.
  • Ensure bidirectional traceability between requirements, software implementation, and verification artifacts.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables, software releases, test reports, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with systems, validation, project management, and customer engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation plans to maintain program timing and deliverable quality.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers while driving engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

FEV is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and hands-on software engineering support for advanced automotive software development programs. The role will lead software development, integration, testing, and release activities while serving as a key technical interface with customers. Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in automotive embedded software development, software integration, or systems engineering.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card is required
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and coordinating software development activities.
  • Experience working directly with customers in a technical leadership or customer-facing role.
  • Strong experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded C/C++, software integration, and verification activities.
  • Experience with requirements management, traceability, software testing, and release management.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Model-Based Development (MBD) and code generation workflows.
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR, Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) architectures, and embedded software platforms.
  • Knowledge of functional safety concepts and requirements traceability methodologies.
  • Experience with HIL/MIL/SIL testing environments and automated testing frameworks.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and customer relationship management skills.
