Job summary

Lumen is seeking an experienced engineering leader to manage a Digital Customer Experience Platform team. The role ensures 24/7 availability of the Lumen experience across Web Portal, iOS, Android, and public APIs, in collaboration with Product Owners to maximize customer value.

The position requires strong Java/J2EE, mobile, cloud, and CI/CD expertise, plus a keen ability to mentor engineers in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment and deliver high‑quality, maintainable software.

Qualifications

• 10+ years full lifecycle software development experience.
• 2+ years of management experience of large enterprise products.
• 5+ years design and development in Java (Core Java, Spring, Web Services), JavaScript, Node.js, JSON and MongoDB, Couchbase.
• 3+ years of experience with mobile app development (iOS and Android).
• Experience with Cloud Infrastructure from AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Experience with JUnit, SonarQube, Kafka, Grunt, Jasmine.
• Experience with Git.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to produce high quality, maintainable software.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning, demos, and retrospectives as part of an Agile Scrum team.
• Manage development activities to deliver best‑in‑class experience.
• Oversee reusable, scalable architecture components for future enhancements.
• Identify key moments in complex customer journeys across services.
• Mentor team members in Agile processes, code reviews, and deployments.
• Serve as liaison with product owners for organizational requests.
• Create development environment with fully automated CI/CD.
• Ensure product quality and fast response times through benchmarking.
