Job summary

Lumen Technologies is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer in the US to lead architecture and delivery of scalable software for AI-ready connectivity. You will translate business needs into robust Java/JavaScript solutions, guiding multiple teams across design, delivery, and integration.

You will mentor engineers, drive automated deployments in a microservices environment, and actively participate in agile ceremonies, security, and performance initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of enterprise development experience with Java or JavaScript.
• 4+ years of API integration and microservices experience.
• 3–5 years in web app architecture, design, and development.
• US citizen or GC holder.
• 3–5 years of Agile development.
• 3–5 years working with relational and non-relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Design and architecture solutions for public sector portals.
• Maintain and decompose a monolithic app using Java & Oracle.
• Develop and enhance functionality for Public Sector Portals with Java, NodeJS, VueJS, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, CosmosDB.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical projects.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and review code.
• Automate deployments in a microservices environment and promote CI/CD.
• Support production issues and participate in on-call rotation.
• Participate in agile ceremonies.
