Job summary

Chenega MIOS in St. Louis, MO seeks a Senior Software Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions for the Aeronautical Navigation Office.

The role collaborates with Product Owners, QA managers, and architects to deliver agency-compliant software using C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and shell scripting. You will participate in SAFe Agile activities, review requirements, support deployments, and help maintain code quality and system documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; or Masters and 6+ years; or 8 additional years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in software development or software integration in service-oriented, cloud, web services, or virtualization environments.
• Experience with C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or shell scripting.
• DoD 8570 Certification Compliance at IAT Level II or III, including Security or equivalent.
• Top Secret clearance with SCI access and Counterintelligence Polygraph.
• Background check and drug screening.
• Preferred: DoD software requirements, government cloud experience, AWS certs, TS/SCI with polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA Managers, Chief Architect, and teams to design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions.
• Participate in SAFe Agile activities including daily coordination, backlog refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Review and implement software requirements, support task execution, and contribute to deployments.
• Modify existing Government Off-the-Shelf code and integrate open-source solutions for web display.
• Develop and maintain solutions using C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and shell scripting.
• Document functionality in GitLab and apply DevOps practices in Agile environment.
• Troubleshoot defects, maintain secure code baselines, participate in code reviews, document solutions.
• Use Jira, Confluence, and other tools to support development and delivery.
• Help maintain system code coverage above 80% and improve quality, performance, and processes.
• Create and maintain systems engineering documents and diagrams.
