Job summary

Steampunk is seeking a Software Developer to build the AI governance and program reporting tools for a large federal advisory program. You will work on modular, cloud-based components and dashboards, applying Agile and DevSecOps practices across the full lifecycle of the tools.

Responsibilities include creating automated executive reporting, contributing to code reviews and testing, and ensuring security, accessibility, and open data formats.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience for enterprise clients.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with one or more web languages (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#).
  • Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with containerization and at least one cloud platform.
  • Demonstrated experience building accessible web applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain AI governance tooling and program dashboards.
  • Design modular, cloud-based components for enterprise tools.
  • Automate reporting and dashboard generation for exec-level audiences.
  • Participate in code reviews and automated testing.
  • Ensure security, reliability, and policy compliance across tools.
  • Adhere to open data formats and APIs for interoperability.
  • Apply accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG 2.1).
  • Document code, features, and user training guides.
