Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm is seeking a Software Asset Management Analyst to lead the SAM program within HHSC IT System Services. The role acts as a senior team member, developing and maintaining procedures for tracking software purchases, licenses, renewals and retirement across the HHSC enterprise.

Reporting to the Software Management Manager, you will coordinate SAM tools, manage data standards, and communicate optimization opportunities to HHSC business areas to maximize license efficiency

Qualifications

• Senior team member with limited supervision guiding the SAM program.
• Experience tracking software purchases, licenses, renewals and retirement.
• Ability to coordinate with vendors and technical teams on SAM tools.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule per agency policy.
• Coordinates the use of SAM tools to track software inventory, usage, subscriptions and license entitlements across the HHSC Enterprise.
• Develops business and data requirements and coordinates tool configuration with system administrators, vendors, and technical teams.
• Maintains SAM data standards and system documentation; communicates licensing options to HHSC business areas.
