Job summary

Baylor Miraca Genetics Laboratories LLC seeks a Senior Software Architect to lead architecture, design, and development of large-scale systems in healthcare genetics. You will drive engineering standards, roadmaps, and collaboration across product, laboratory, and bioinformatics teams.

You will mentor engineers, guide technical discussions, ensure security and regulatory compliance, and evaluate new technologies to boost operational efficiency and data integrity in a remote, full-time role.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or related field required.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level C# and .NET (e.g., .NET Core / .NET 6+)
• Extensive experience architecting and building React + TypeScript applications
• Deep expertise with relational databases (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) including design and tuning
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and governing RESTful APIs and distributed systems
• Strong background in software architecture, system design, and engineering best practices
• Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and influencing cross-functional decisions
• Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native architectures
• Experience with healthcare, regulated environments, and data security preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex software systems and platforms
• Define and champion engineering standards, best practices, and long-term technical roadmaps
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable, secure solutions
• Conduct deep technical reviews and guide system design discussions for consistency
• Mentor and coach engineers to foster technical excellence and continuous learning
• Drive root-cause analysis to resolve complex issues ensuring reliability and data integrity
• Evaluate emerging technologies and guide strategic adoption
• Partner with product, laboratory, and bioinformatics teams to optimize workflows
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements across systems
• Contribute to innovation initiatives that advance Baylor Genetics’ digital capabilities
