Job summary

Protingent is seeking a Software Architect in the Dulles/Springfield, VA area for a direct-hire role. Lead architecture and system design for complex web applications, while remaining hands-on as a developer and guiding teams to deliver scalable software.

The role requires 7+ years in software development, 2+ years as a team lead or architect, strong C#/.NET Core and JavaScript/TypeScript skills, DoD experience, and active TS/SCI clearance. Hybrid schedule: 40% on-site, 60% remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant software development experience.
• 2+ years as a Team Lead or Lead Architect.
• Strong proficiency as a Full Stack Developer with C#/.NET Core and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience in Web Application and API Development.
• Familiarity with Containerized Deployment, AWS, CI/CD, and Hybrid Cloud/On-Prem.
• DoD / Defense Industry experience.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance required.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and system design for complex web apps, both customer-facing and internal.
• Remain hands-on as a developer, writing high‑quality code.
• Guide teams in writing clean, high‑performance, maintainable code.
• Design, develop, and support software including apps, DB integrations, interfaces, and new features.
• Run planning meetings and coordinate cross‑functionally to meet objectives and compliance.
• Lead on-site integration efforts at a cleared TS/SCI facility (hybrid: 40% on-site, 60% remote).
• Support testing and deployment of new products and features.
• Participate in code reviews.
