Illinois Department of Human Services at Alton Mental Health Center is seeking a Social Worker IV to perform advanced clinical social work on a forensic unit. You will gather complex psycho-social data, set treatment goals, advocate for patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to guide treatment and ensure safety.

The role requires an MSW, three years of post-master’s clinical practice, and a valid clinical social worker license.

Qualifications

• Requires a master’s degree in social work from a recognized school of social work.
• Three (3) years of supervised post master’s clinical social work practice.
• Possession of a clinical social worker’s license from the Department of Professional Regulation.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional social work services involving advanced application of social work principles and complex evaluations.
• Interviews patients, family members and significant others to obtain psycho-social data and develop treatment goals.
• Advocates for patients and serves as a resource to the treatment team.
• Coordinates actions with an interdisciplinary team to address treatment concerns.
• Serves as a mental health resource for direct care staff.
• Performs additional duties within the scope of duties as required.
