Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of training/experience for eligibility programs.
• High school diploma with 2 years clerical or customer service experience qualifies.

Responsibilities

• Conducts investigations and in-depth interviews to approve/deny or refer cases.
• Contacts by mail and telephone to document information on applications.
• Keeps informed of changing laws and policies to ensure correct financial services.
• Redetermines or recertifies approvals for financial service programs.
• Researches applicant status and payment history using storage systems.
• Records information to update case records and budgets.
• Advises clients on agency services and referrals to other divisions.
• Refs clients to housing, employment, medical, or legal services as needed.
• Makes financial arrangements with utilities, landlords, and employers.
• May refer for investigations to locate absent parents or to locator services.
