Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Richardson, TX, seeks a Sr. Principal Engineer – Design Technology to lead design technology adoption for advanced SoC designs.

You will align design methodologies with foundry capabilities, improve PPA, and enable manufacturability across process nodes, while benchmarking technologies and guiding roadmap decisions. Qualifications

• Minimum 15+ years of experience in SoC design, Physical Design, EDA flows/methodologies and/or semiconductor process integration.
• Deep understanding of fabrication processes on advanced nodes, PDKs and fab interactions.
• Hands-on experience with timing, power and signal integrity trade-offs in modern SoCs.
• Experience with yield analysis and silicon bring-up is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fab and Process interface with process teams to translate capabilities into design guidelines.
• Lead design technology benchmarking and standardize FOM analyses for nodes.
• Drive cross-collaboration with architecture, RTL, and physical design teams.
• Develop and optimize EDA flows for synthesis, P&R, timing, and power optimization.
• Guide technology aware sign-off and roadmap initiatives with foundry teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and present technology choices to leadership.
• Support customer and partner inquiries on design technology, PPA, and nodes.
• Stay current with the latest trends in semiconductor processes and packaging.
