Job summary

Gartner Information Security is seeking a Senior Security Analyst to strengthen our global SOC, handling complex investigations, improving detection and response, and protecting Gartner’s people, data and intellectual property across time zones.

The role operates in a 24x7 SOC with rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and emphasizes automation, proactive defense, and ongoing professional growth within a security-first culture.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of information security experience, with hands-on investigations.
• Proven ability to triage and investigate cybersecurity events in time-sensitive environments.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM/XDR, EDR, email security, web proxy, and digital forensics/IR.
• Experience in AWS/Azure/GCP environments and querying with SPL/KQL/SQL.
• Threat hunting experience; red/purple team exposure is a plus.
• Ability to automate using Python/PowerShell/Bash and reduce repetitive work.
• Strong written and verbal communication, plus stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Independently handle complex investigations from triage to closure.
• Analyze evidence across SIEM, EDR, cloud, email, and network telemetry.
• Produce concise investigation notes and actionable reports for teams and stakeholders.
• Develop detection content and playbooks aligned with MITRE ATT&CK and Kill Chain.
• Build tools and automation to accelerate investigations.
• Hunt for malicious activity, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations across endpoints, network, and cloud.
• Mentor colleagues, share knowledge, and strengthen SOC capabilities.
• Drive continuous improvement across global SOC operations.
