Job summary

Gartner is seeking a Senior Security Analyst to strengthen our global Security Operations Center. You will conduct complex investigations, improve detection and response, and act as a technical escalation point for analysts across time zones.

You'll work 24x7 coverage with rotating shifts, contributing to detection content, playbooks, and automation using SIEM/XDR, EDR, and cloud telemetry. This role blends hands-on engineering with mentorship in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of information security or security operations experience.
• Experience triaging and investigating cybersecurity events and incidents.
• Hands-on across SIEM/XDR, EDR, email security and web proxy.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) and query languages.
• Threat hunting experience; red/purple team exposure is advantageous.
• Ability to automate with Python/PowerShell/Bash.
• Strong written and verbal communication; stakeholder engagement.
• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity or related; certifications advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complex incidents from triage through containment and remediation.
• Correlate evidence across SIEM, EDR, cloud, email and network telemetry.
• Produce concise investigation notes and incident reports for teams and leadership.
• Develop and tune detection content and playbooks aligned with MITRE ATT&CK.
• Build tools and automation to reduce repetitive work and improve SOC.
• Identify malicious activity and vulnerabilities across endpoints, network and cloud.
• Act as escalation point, share knowledge and strengthen team capability.
• Contribute ideas to improve processes and SOC maturity.
