Job summary

Praxis Precision Medicines is expanding its data foundation engineering team. As a Senior Snowflake Platform Engineer, you will own Snowflake operations, governance, security, and cost transparency across development, test, and production.

You will collaborate with Data Engineering, Security, Identity, AWS, and commercial tech partners to ensure data is available and protected. This role emphasizes reliability, observability, automation, and cross-team collaboration to enable business decisions

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience across data platforms or cloud engineering with Snowflake production
• Strong SQL and Python skills with automation and failure investigation
• Deep knowledge of Snowflake security, roles, grants, and telemetry
• Experience with identity, least-privilege access, and reviews with security teams
• Ability to balance cost, performance and reliability for large workloads
• Experience with Git-based development, testing, and controlled releases
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience
• Regular screen use and focus; accommodations may be provided

Responsibilities

• Own Snowflake platform operations across dev, test, prod environments
• Strengthen security and governance with automated access controls
• Improve reliability with root-cause analysis, monitoring, and alerts
• Develop runbooks, escalation paths, and recovery procedures
• Optimize Snowflake consumption with workload visibility and forecasts
• Automate change management and coordinate releases with AWS integrations
• Document reliability metrics and promote reusable automation
