Job summary

Sinclair is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build, operate, and enhance our enterprise data platform with a Snowflake-first approach. You will implement Snowflake-native pipelines, Openflow integrations, and robust data quality and governance practices in a production setting.

Based on-site in Hunt Valley, MD, you will collaborate with Data Engineering, BI, Security and Analytics teams to deliver scalable, maintainable data solutions. Strong SQL, Python, and Snowflake expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, Engineering, or related field.
• Approximately five or more years of progressive experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or closely related discipline.
• Deep, hands-on Snowflake experience building and supporting production data solutions in an enterprise environment.
• Strong SQL skills with data modeling, ELT/ETL development, query optimization, and production troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake-native capabilities such as Snowpipe, streams, tasks, stored procedures, and related engineering patterns.

Responsibilities

• Snowflake Engineering & Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain production-grade data pipelines using Snowflake-native capabilities.
• Snowflake Openflow & Enterprise Integrations: Build, configure, operate, and troubleshoot Openflow pipelines and connectors for data ingestion and replication.
• Data Quality, Reliability & Observability: Build data quality/validation controls; develop monitoring for ingestion, pipeline execution, and data freshness.
• Platform Engineering, Performance & Governance: Work with Snowflake databases, schemas, warehouses, stages, roles; optimize performance and enforce governance.
