Job summary

Sinclair, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and operate Sinclair's enterprise data platform with a Snowflake-first approach.

The role spans ingestion, integration, transformation, data modeling, quality, observability, performance, and cost optimization, with emphasis on Snowflake-native development and Openflow. The ideal candidate has about five years of progressive data engineering experience, strong SQL and Python, and a track record delivering reliable, governed data solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/IS/Engineering.
• Approximately five years of progressive data engineering experience.
• Deep Snowflake experience building and supporting production data solutions.
• Strong SQL skills with data modeling and production troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake-native capabilities (Snowpipe, streams, tasks, procedures).
• Experience building integrations across multiple source systems and Python for engineering.
• Experience with data quality, monitoring, observability, and governance in production.
• Proficiency with Git-based workflows and modern software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain production-grade data pipelines using Snowflake-native capabilities (Snowpipe, streams, tasks, procedures).
• Develop bronze/silver/gold data models for reliable enterprise data.
• Provide SQL and Python solutions for transformation, automation, and operational workflows.
• Troubleshoot production issues with root-cause analysis and durable fixes.
• Build Snowflake Openflow pipelines and connectors for data ingestion and replication.
• Modernize legacy ETL with Openflow and Snowflake-native ELT patterns.
• Develop data quality controls and observability; design resilient pipelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver governed data foundations for analytics.
