ModRetro Inc. is seeking a seasoned SMT Process/Equipment Engineer to support the development, installation, and qualification of in-house SMT lines in Costa Mesa, CA. You will own line uptime, optimize solder paste printing, pick-and-place, and reflow, and program changeovers for new products.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent years of experience.
• 8+ years of SMT process or equipment engineering experience in electronics manufacturing.
• Hands-on operational experience with Mycronic, Heller, Fuji or similar SMT equipment, including programming, changeover, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Experience supporting SMT line installation, bring-up, and qualification.
• Strong understanding of SMT processes end to end: solder paste printing, component placement, reflow profiling, and inline inspection (SPI/AOI).
• Working knowledge of IPC standards, including IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.

Aufgaben

• Support the development, installation, and qualification of new in-house SMT lines, including equipment selection, line layout, bring-up, and buyoff.
• Own the ongoing maintenance, uptime, and performance of SMT line equipment, including solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow, and inspection systems.
• Program, optimize, and maintain placement and reflow profiles for new products and changeovers.
• Establish preventive maintenance schedules, calibration programs, and spare parts strategies to maximize line availability.
• Drive line performance metrics including OEE, first-pass yield, DPMO, changeover time, and throughput.
• Lead root-cause analysis of SMT process defects using SPI, AOI, and X-ray data.
• Develop SOPs, work instructions, and training programs for SMT operators and technicians.
• Collaborate with electrical engineering and PCB design teams to improve manufacturability through DFA feedback.
• Manage SMT material handling practices including solder paste control, MSD handling, and feeder management.
