Job summary

Ultimate Staffing Services is seeking an SMT Maintenance Engineer in Milpitas, CA to ensure reliability and uptime of SMT, Wave Soldering, and Conformal Coating equipment. This full-time role partners with Production, Process Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to drive operational excellence in a high-volume electronics environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on CM/EMS experience, strong electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls troubleshooting, and a background in CMMS-based

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or related; equivalent experience considered.
• 7+ years of maintenance engineering in electronics manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting SMT, Wave Soldering, and Conformal Coating equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and automation issues.
• Experience with CMMS for maintenance planning and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
• Respond quickly to failures to minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections to prevent failures and maintain uptime.
• Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history.
• Support RCA activities and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical support for SMT, Wave Soldering, and Conformal Coating equipment.
• Ensure equipment is configured, calibrated, and maintained to process requirements.
• Participate in installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Collaborate with operators, technicians, vendors, and engineering teams to optimize performance.
• Identify automation and process improvements; develop scheduled maintenance plans.
• Monitor KPIs, downtime, and OEE; manage spare parts inventory.
• Support NPI activities and ensure manufacturing readiness.
• Ensure safety, quality standards, and customer requirements are met.
