Job summary

J T is seeking an SMT Process Engineer to drive end‑to‑end SMT line design and optimization in a high‑mix EMS environment. You will lead process development, yield improvement, and line efficiency while mentoring junior staff.

You will collaborate with design, program management, and quality teams to ensure DFMs are production‑ready, support ramp‑ups, and maintain strict IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001 standards. This role offers clear leadership growth toward management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3–7 years of SMT process engineering experience in EMS/contract manufacturing.
• In-depth knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001 standards.
• Lean Six Sigma and structured problem solving (DMAIC, 8D, A3).
• Experience with SMT equipment and NPI processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end SMT line design, optimization, and throughput improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; drive cross‑functional collaboration.
• Lead DFM reviews with design teams and ensure smooth production ramp‑ups.
• Manage KPIs, CAPA, and preventive maintenance coordination.
