Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced SMT Engineer to lead planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of SMT and circuit board assembly manufacturing in a high-reliability environment. You will collaborate with Design, Operations, and Quality to ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with rigorous quality standards.

The role focuses on establishing and scaling SMT manufacturing operations, supporting new product introductions, and providing technical leadership

Qualifications

Experience leading planning, implementation and continuous improvement of SMT/manufacturing processes in high-reliability environments.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management and DFM reviews.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Lead SMT and circuit board assembly processes planning and improvements.
Collaborate with design, operations and quality to ensure manufacturability and cost targets.
Support line launches, equipment commissioning and ramp-up to achieve target run rates.
Develop standardized processes, work instructions, and operating procedures.
Hire, train, and mentor SMT production teams for strong technical capability.
Perform DFM reviews of PCB assemblies and BOMs to optimize quality and cost.
Develop SMT tooling, fixtures, and validation methods to improve yield.
Drive continuous improvement across quality, yield, efficiency and defect reduction.
