Job summary

Jobot is seeking a hands-on SMT Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes in PCB/PCBA environments. You will own placement, reflow, and inspection, developing robust profiles and resolving real-time issues on the production floor.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of SMT process engineering experience within PCB/PCBA manufacturing.
• Strong expertise in SMT placement equipment and processes.
• Strong expertise in reflow soldering and thermal profiling.
• Strong expertise in troubleshooting SMT line issues and defects.
• Proven experience with line optimization and process improvements.
• Proven experience with yield improvement initiatives.
• Proven experience with manufacturing data analysis and root cause problem solving.
• Hands-on, floor-based mindset with ability to drive solutions in real time.
• Experience supporting automation and production scaling efforts.
• ITAR eligibility required; ITAR environment experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize SMT manufacturing processes, including placement, reflow, and inspection.
• Develop and refine reflow profiles to ensure product quality and process stability.
• Troubleshoot process, equipment, and quality issues on the production floor in real time.
• Drive line optimization efforts to improve throughput, efficiency, and first-pass yield.
• Analyze defects and implement CAPA to prevent recurrence.
• Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives across SMT operations.
• Support process automation and modernization to enhance scalability.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to solve manufacturing challenges.
• Assist in validation and implementation of new equipment, materials, and processes.
