Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a Senior SMT Manufacturing Engineer in San Diego, CA. The role focuses on leading SMT manufacturing activities for high-reliability CCAs used in satellite equipment. Responsibilities include hands-on programming, process optimization, and collaboration with vendors and Facilities Technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Manufacturing Engineering activities to support SMT production of CCAs for satellite telemetry and command equipment.
• Provide hands-on programming for pick-and-place, reflow profiling, and SMT troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with external vendors and internal facilities for preventative maintenance and upgrades.
• Facilitate new product introduction (NPI) transfer from Engineering to Production.
• Support day-to-day SMT production issues, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct SMT equipment/process training for production Operators.
