Job summary

Columbia Threadneedle Investments in Boston is seeking an experienced equity research analyst / portfolio manager to cover a broad universe of U.S. small-cap stocks. You will conduct deep fundamental research, build financial models, and generate actionable investment ideas for the lead PM.

A high degree of ownership and collaboration with trading and clients is expected. The role requires independent thinking, strong execution, and willingness to travel occasionally.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years buy-side equity research experience.
• Strong financial modeling skills and comfort with primary source analysis (transcripts, SEC filings, NDRs, research trips).
• Ability to communicate investment rationale clearly to PMs and traders.
• MBA or CFA designation preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain institutional‑grade equity research across a broad small-cap universe.
• Incorporate multi-source data and management engagement to inform stock pitches.
• Develop and maintain financial models including price targets.
• Present investment ideas and philosophy to clients and consultants.
