Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Sr Polysomnographic Technologist for three 12-hour night shifts (7 p.m.–7 a.m., Wednesday–Friday) to provide comprehensive sleep disorder evaluation and treatment. The role includes advanced scoring, preliminary reporting, and final report completion after physician sign-off, with mentoring duties and adherence to BRPT/AASM standards.

Candidate should have BRPT or NBRC credentials, BLS certification, and at least three years of polysomnography experience in a sleep

Qualifications

• Three years experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist in a Sleep Disorders laboratory/center.
• BLS certification and one of BRPT or NBRC sleep certifications.
• Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).

Responsibilities

• Performs polysomnographic data acquisition and scoring of sleep studies per guidelines.
• Prepares preliminary report for physician interpretation and final report after physician sign-off.
• Educates patients and participates in department teaching/mentoring of students and staff.
• Assists with quality improvement initiatives and department safety initiatives.
