Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Site Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager in Amarillo, TX to lead site WHS programs, develop a safety team, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance across operations.

You will partner with site operations, train leadership in EHS policies, and implement global safety practices. Strong communication and risk assessment skills are essential for influencing cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years in safety/environmental programs in manufacturing, production or service operations.
• 7+ years in people and performance management.
• Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME of local/regional regulations and company WHS policy.
• Provide guidance to ensure compliance with Amazon Safety Policies.
• Measure site performance against safety requirements and address deficiencies.
• Ensure safety records and data integrity, providing accurate reporting and metrics.
• Deliver on-time and quality safety projects to Operations.
• Deep dive safety metrics and review trends to justify resource allocation.
• Audit record keeping and Global Safety Database entries for compliance.
• Manage and mentor Safety Managers and Safety Associates on site.
• Drive long-term strategic actions to reduce incidents with leadership.
• Lead Kaizen events with Operations to address risks.
