Job summary

Panera LLC’s Saint Louis Support Center in St. Louis, MO is seeking a senior Site Reliability Engineer to shape reliability practices across critical platforms. You will define SLOs/SLIs, lead incident response, and drive automation, observability, and platform health with cross‑functional teams.

You will design IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and fault‑tolerance strategies, mentor engineers, and influence architecture decisions to deliver highly available services at scale in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Site Reliability Engineering or related fields.
• Hands-on with cloud-native distributed systems in public cloud (GCP preferred).
• Strong experience with SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, and reliability metrics.
• IaC tooling (Terraform/CloudFormation) and platform automation.
• Kubernetes and modern cloud-native architectures; observability focus.
• Proficient in Python/Go/Java/Bash scripting; CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evolve SRE practices for mission-critical apps and distributed systems.
• Define, implement, and govern SLOs/SLIs and error budgets.
• Drive reliability improvements via automation, self-healing, and toil reduction.
• Embed reliability, security, and observability into architecture and lifecycle.
• Develop IaC, platform automation, and CI/CD pipelines; improve deployment consistency.
• Lead incident reviews, root cause analysis, and resiliency testing.
• Build comprehensive observability via metrics, logs, traces, and synthetic monitoring.
• Mentor engineers and influence engineering decisions on reliability and architecture.
