Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to shape reliability architecture and govern the SLO/error-budget framework across multiple products. This senior IC role emphasizes technical depth, cross-functional influence, and mentoring engineers to raise the bar on reliability.

You will drive tooling decisions, improve observability, and lead incident response while aligning with AI-driven toil reduction and enterprise security standards. This position is based in Golden, CO.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software/IT with 5+ years in SRE/DevOps.
• Experience owning SLI/SLO design and capacity planning across services.
• Hands-on with AWS or Azure and Kubernetes.
• IaC experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong scripting in Python/Go/Bash for tooling and automation.
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
• Excellent written/verbal communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern SLO/SLI, error budget, RPO, MTTA, MTTR across products.
• Lead capacity planning and reliability architecture across production ecosystems.
• Serve as SRE technical authority on cross-functional projects with engineering teams.
• Evaluate reliability tooling against needs for scalability and observability.
• Lead incident response and blameless postmortems for high-impact incidents.
• Drive toil reduction via automation and reliability tooling.
• Design SLO frameworks, observability pipelines, and incident mgmt across services.
• Own reliability for critical services and translate requirements into concrete specs.
• Provide technical leadership on medium-to-high complexity reliability initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional reliability reviews and influence SRE standards.
• Champion reuse of tooling and scalable automation across teams.
• Mentor Senior and mid-level SREs; advise on SRE practices.
